Welcome to Tatting in the Triad

Tatting in the Triad is about tatting and a little bit of everything in my life.

Blast from the past, not tatting too much but Palmetto Tat Days is coming up soon!  Hope to reconnect with friends and have a blast.  I'm assistant to my daughter who is teaching a pattern she made.  She is a talented designer and I'm hoping she sells a booklet with all her original patterns there.  I hope to develop patterns in the future, but none I've tried have come to being anything wonderful.

One of my favorite all time photos from tat days - - -

With Elesa, a wonderful tatter from Kernersville, Sue Miller, the tatting Goddess who taught my daughter and me to shuttle tat, and my oldest daughter.  Sue has since passed on but her legacy, not only to her family, but to all the many tatters she has helped, and the public that she helped expose tatting to, her legacy lives on.

well, time is getting away from me, but not going to get away too far.  committed to providing info/photos/ and anything else I can!

Not teaching at tat days this year, but wonderful news - my oldest daughter Paige is!  She has great patterns she designed years ago and will be teaching them.  I'm so proud of her.  I learned to tat and taught her a tiny bit of the basics and she has taken off with it.

her talent is showcased at www.PaigeDeputyDesigns.com which includes personal projects, like tatting and more, as well as her interior design portfolio.

here are a couple photos of her tatting that are of the general type (using rings) that I think she will be teaching us at tat days.

I'm still playing with my spring bouquet flower choices.  Anyone have any colors they love for their spring flowers?  ignore the tape, these "little" bouquets are taped around my computer to keep me happy.

Playing with colors, love these colors together in a bouquet.  Think I need a different purple but the red and yellow are pretty close.  Purple flowers I will be making are like one in first bouquet.  Not sure what shape flowers the rest will be.  I love the leaves, I bought 2 threads, a plain green as a back up in case I didn't love this one.  It is the twirlz thread by Lizbeth and it is the green/blue combination.  I think it makes awesome leaves.

Does anyone out there have any amazing flower combinations?

this is a heart made with size 10 thread which I have never broken.  I like the dainty look of the smaller threads but get frustrated when they break, normally close to end of project.

this is the
SweetHeart pattern by Birgit Phelps

Who else has made this pattern?  Who else breaks their thread?
